Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.
We now run shelter homes, schools and a reasonable mess that helps such needy young people. We also have our helpline offices spread throughout the country so one can approach us anytime they need help.
The SadikBanu Welfare Trust is a small independent organisation run by a dedicated team of volunteers
The charity was set up by Samsudin Abdulhusein, a former pupil of the Hoima School. Samsudin was very young when his family was expelled from Uganda by Idi Amin’s regime in 1972. He and his family settled in Sheffield and was fortunate to have received a very good education. For the first time in 2008, he had a chance to revisit his childhood school in Hoima and was overwhelmed by the poor state of the school. The condition moved him so much that he decided to get involved in supporting the school for the continued education of the children.
It took a while to set up a structure to provide ongoing support. This was mainly for the reason that we wanted to make sure that the right team is in place so that when funds are collected and sent to the school, it will be put to good use and there will be proper accountability.
Currently we are running non-registered charity, though our medium term aim is to register the charity in the UK with a parallel Charitable Trust in Uganda to support pupils and families directly.

Our mission is to make sure all young people and children get all the support they need, when they need it, no matter what it is.
Whether it is a reassuring conversation, financial help, education, professional training, or simply the assurance that they are not alone, we will make sure that everyone gets support that meets them where they’re at as quickly as possible.
